Products are covered by the warranty offered by their manufacturer. V. Zalco, Inc. is not the warranty provider, but we will help you use the coverage you have.
1. Manufacturer Warranties
Consumer electronics products supplied by us carry the warranty offered by the manufacturer of that brand and model. The length and terms of that warranty are set by the manufacturer, not by us, and vary between brands, product categories and models.
The definitive terms are those published by the manufacturer and supplied with the product. Where anything in this policy appears to conflict with the manufacturer's warranty, the manufacturer's terms govern.
2. What a Warranty Usually Covers
Manufacturer warranties typically cover defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, for a stated period from the date of purchase. Remedies are decided by the manufacturer and commonly include repair, replacement, or a refund.
3. What a Warranty Usually Does Not Cover
Manufacturer warranties commonly exclude:
- accidental damage, drops, spills and liquid ingress;
- damage from misuse, neglect, or use outside the product's stated specifications;
- damage from improper installation, incorrect voltage or power surges;
- normal wear items and cosmetic wear that does not affect function;
- unauthorized repair or modification;
- products with removed or altered serial numbers.
These are typical exclusions. The exclusions that apply to your product are those stated in that manufacturer's warranty.
4. How We Help
We provide warranty assistance. That means we will:
- identify the warranty that applies to your brand and model;
- explain, in plain terms, what it does and does not cover;
- re-supply your proof of purchase if you no longer have it;
- direct you to the correct service channel for that manufacturer;
- help you assemble the information the manufacturer needs.
The claim itself is decided by the manufacturer or its authorized service centre. We cannot approve, deny or override a manufacturer's warranty decision.
5. Proof of Purchase
Nearly every manufacturer requires dated proof of purchase before a warranty claim is accepted. Keep your receipt or order confirmation. If you have lost it, contact us with enough detail to locate the order and we will re-supply what we can.
6. Faults on Arrival
A product that is faulty when it arrives is handled under our Return & Refund Policy rather than as a warranty claim. Tell us promptly and we will put it right.
7. Extended Warranties and Service Plans
Where an extended warranty or service plan has been purchased separately, that agreement is between you and the provider of the plan. Its terms, coverage and claims process are set by that provider. We can tell you who the provider is so you can contact them directly.
8. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law. Those rights apply in addition to any manufacturer warranty.
